Here is part 2 of the assignments for Noah's art camp. Hope you enjoy them :)
Normally updates should follow up faster now, had delay due to moving and other personal stuff.
Things I learned the most:
-The importance of edges, again and how to see and use them in your advantage
-Colour palette restriction.
-Take it easy, subdivide paintings in easy to follow steps to keep from being overwhelmed by the whole
-Warm-up makes a huge difference.
The order goes from recent to old pieces by me, followed by recent to old master studies.
Difference between master studies and own work can also be found in the name of the file.
(but you'll prolly see the diff :P )
Cheers

Aug 2013
Visiting an old lingerie factory that has been abandoned since 1995.
I signed in for Noah's Art Camp and here is what I've made so far. Hope you enjoy it :)
Things I learned the most:
-how background is bent to support subject/foreground in colour relation and value/contrast.
-how green is just dark yellow, and most blues are greys
-how grey is a joker colour, it takes the place of the opposite warmth of the surrounding colours.
-how subtle they are in their low-chroma colour variations
-how high you should set the bar for workload cap
-The importance of edges
Big Masterstudies after:
Thomas Reis' "Amelie"
Bouguereau's "Evening Mood"
Thomas Moran's "Autumn on the Wissahickon"

Roadtrip p1
03 Avr 2013
This was something Jordy (link) and I were dreaming of doing once; going on a roadtrip in our own little Europe.
So we did!
20 days of adventure by car from Belgium through France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy till Florence (deepest point) and back up via France.
A total of about 4.000km of eyepleasure, taking a bunch of photos, painting and meeting new ppls.
I drove about 200km a day via the small roads and we took a few days now and then to rest and paint in plein air. We mostly slept in youth hostels, but inevitably in the car and outside as well.
On the right is just a small selection of the pictures I took in chronological order. Notice how every 75km everything changes, from snow to spring-weather, from the seaside to the mountains, all just a day separated.
It was a great life experience and I encourage everybody to do this at least once!
